Birthday Madness - part 2

A couple days after Zola's birthday we had a small party at our community pool. Here is the awesome cake I made Zola. She loves construction equipment and yelled, "BACKHOE!" when she saw it.

The three of us at the pool.

Zola eating dirt.

The happy remains.

This is our friend Grace who also had a birthday. She wanted a cake with water so I gave her a pool party - with flaming umbrellas and all.

BACKHOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was awesome. Random people at the pool were walking up to Jana and asking where she got the cake.

She made it, suckers!

I CANNOT believe your cake-making skills. That is amazing. You need to teach me. Please tell me that you at least stole the idea from somebody else and didn't come up with it on your own. On second thought...it wouldn't make me feel any better. I am just going to have to come to grips with my inferiority. You are AWESOME!

I got the idea from a magazine, but used fondant instead of frosting and a few other changes. thanks! I'll show you, it isn't that hard. Someone with your cinnamon roll skills will have no problem.

I really am inspired. And a little sad. I can't decide if I am more sad that I have never made such an awesome cake or never eaten such an awesome cake. When Benji finishes his dissertation, (notice I use the when, not if, because I am a positive thinker!), what kind of bribery would it take to get you to make a cake for him/us? PS. The birthday pics are rockin'!

That's the most delicious backhoe I've ever seen!! You've got mad skills! Birthday madness - part 2 looked awesome; not as awesome as part - 1 though because you were missing 2 of the coolest people ever ;). Hope you guys are doing well!

p.s. I can totally hear the intonation in Dave's voice as I'm reading his comment! He so funny; he make me laugh! Hahaha!
